Meet the Directors at Bright Little Stars Inc.

Kid Using Magnifying Glass — Billings, MT — Bright Little Stars Inc

Karri Sweet – Owner/Director

My name is Karri Sweet. I am the director and owner of Bright Little Stars Inc. I have lived most of my life in Montana and went to college in Bozeman.

I came to Billings to finish my college degree at MSU and graduated in 2006 with a bachelor's in Elementary Education and Special Education. In the summer of 2006, we opened a preschool in our house.

We had struggled with finding a daycare and preschool for our oldest son, and when considering having more children, we weren't comfortable with putting them in a daycare/preschool center. We have slowly expanded over many years, and we moved out of my house and into the downtown location in May of 2008.

We opened our second location in May of 2013 on the west end. We have really enjoyed getting to know many families and kids in the Billings community throughout the years. In May of 2023, we sold the downtown location to the director down there to focus on running the west end location to its max potential.  My husband and I have 5 children. When selecting staff and making business decisions, I enjoy being able to see things from both an owner's and parent's perspective.

Outside of work, my kids stay active in many sports and church activities. My husband and I enjoy serving in our community, going on short-term mission trips, and attending small group studies. As we continue to grow and expand, I am not always able to get to know each parent on a personal level, but I am confident with both of my Directors and their ability to lead. If you ever need anything, please feel free to let me know. I think that it is vital for all businesses to be continually looking for ways to improve and adapt as needed. We are truly thankful for all of the families that have been enrolled at Bright Little Stars Inc. and look forward to helping many more families with their childcare needs.

Alysia Anderson – Director

My name is Alysia Anderson. I am the director at the west end location. I was born and raised in Worden, MT, and graduated from Huntley Project High School in 2005.

I was very involved during high school, playing volleyball, softball, golf, band, jazz band, FFA, 4-H, and National Honor Society, along with working a part-time job and helping out on our family farm and my grandparent's farm. After high school, I attended MCC on a volleyball scholarship to pursue a nursing degree.

After one year, I received a full scholarship to transfer to Montana Tech to play volleyball for their program and finish my degree, but I chose to come back to Billings and be closer to my family. I earned a spot on the softball team for the MSU-B Yellow Jackets but was unable to play due to it conflicting with the nursing program's strict schedule.

I started working for Karri in June 2007 and graduated from college in May 2008 with an Associate of Science in Nursing degree. I was torn and found it hard to leave the children as I enjoy teaching and taking care of the kids, so I put off getting my license and chose to stay with Bright Little Stars Inc.

I was promoted to Assistant Director in January 2011. In 2013, we opened the west end location, and I became the director at that facility. Over the years, I've been busy working toward gaining all the knowledge and experience that I can through training and seminars to improve my background in Early Childhood Education.

I have completed the MT Infant Toddler Caregiver Education Course and the Preschool Teacher Education Course. My husband and I have 4 children that we adore! We enjoy spending time with our family and friends, camping, jet-skiing, fishing, hunting and are involved with many adult league sports. Our dedicated group of teachers is very passionate about all of our children, both past and present, for which they get to help mold daily into the vibrant and bright young individuals they will become.
